ボーイスカウト沖縄県連盟

玉城譲治源河野営場長（沖縄スカウトクラブ副会長）は、４月３日（木）～６日（日）、源河野営場の整備作業を実施し、そのレポートを送ってきましたので以下にご紹介します。
Genka Camp Ground Ranger Mr. Joji Tamashiro (Vice President of the Okinawa Scout Club) carried out maintenance work at the Genka Camp Ground from Thursday, April 3rd to Sunday, to April 6th and has sent us a report on the work, which we introduce below.


４月３日（木）、山小屋を訪ね、伊波さんから作成した三角支柱4本を預かり、野営場で鋼製足場板を置いて橋をかけました。
支柱は足場板がかけやすく、外しやすい。
作成した赤い支柱はあと二つあり、足場板があと２つ設置できる。
On Thursday, April 3rd, I visited Mr. Iha's mountain hut and received the four triangular piers he had made.
I then placed the steel scaffolding steps at the campground and built the bridge.
These piers are easy to attach and remove scaffolding boards to.
There are two more red piers created, and two more scaffolding boards can be placed on them.

４月４日（金）は、つる性植物で後方の絡まって木が枯れかかっているので刈り取りをしました。
On Friday, April 4th, I cut Down the vines that had become tangled behind the trees and were causing them to wither.
この日、午前３時気温は１２℃で、屋外は１０℃まで下がっていた。最後の寒さか？
On this day, the temperature was 12 degrees Celsius at 3 am, and the temperature outside had dropped to 10 degrees Celsius. Is this the last cold spell?

４月６日（日）、気温昨夜から２０℃前後で、ダラダラと雨が降っている。
沖1からカレーとダッチオーブンで調理したチキンをいただいた。
On Sunday, April 6th, the temperature had been around 20 degrees Celsius since last night, and it was raining steadily. Troop Okinawa 1 gave me curry and chicken cooked in a Dutch oven.
この日、私は足場板や支柱は全て撤去し、トイレ横に置きました。そこまでは昨年洪水は来てないので、今後それらが流される事はないでしょう。
On this day, I removed all the scaffolding and piers and placed them next to the toilet. There was no flooding up there last year, so they will not be washed away in the future.

伊波さんが作成した橋脚は四つ足で、先が尖っているので、押し込むと橋が平坦に作れます。
残っている三角形橋脚３つを組み合わせると、河の水深が深くて広くても長い平坦な橋を作れそうです。
The piers that Mr. Iha created have four legs and pointed ends, so you can push them in to make a flat bridge. By combining the three remaining triangular piers, it looks like we can make a long, flat bridge even if the river is deep and wide.
