On June 10 (Tue), Genka Camp Ground Ranger Mr. Joji Tamaki submitted a report on his inspection of the Genka Campground, which we introduce below.
There is a fallen tree just before the campground gate, but we can still get through. Meanwhile, there was trash strewn around in front of the gate, left behind by BBQ guests. Also, due to the last heavy rain of the rainy season, a sandy area has widened to the right of the main stream of the Genka River, which can be reached by going down from the toilet, and scaffolding can be seen in the water below the edge of the cliff.
The scaffolding boards will be buried in mud and debris or washed downstream if the next heavy rain comes, so I will be pulling them up tomorrow. I also take care of the garbage disposal in front of the gate and cut the vines that have wrapped around the trees behind the totem pole.
The last rain of the rainy season seems to have been strong, and on Prefectural Route 14, which runs from Genkawa to Arima in Higashison, a large amount of soil and sand had surged up to the iron plate protective wall at the site of a previous landslide.
