父の日の６月１５日（日）の豊見城1団のカブ・ビーバー隊の活動は、『島ぞーりアートで父の日プレゼント作り』をしました。
On Father's Day, June 15 (Sun), the Cubs and Beavers of Pack Tomigusuku 1 held an activity called "Making Father's Day Gifts with Beach Sandal Art."
この日は彫刻刀を使用するということで、スカウトたちは先ず中井団委員長から安全な彫刻刀の使い方を教わりました。
Since carving knives were to be used on that day, the Scouts were first taught by Group Tomigusuku 1 Chairman Mr. Nakai how to use carving knives safely.
その後、スカウトたちはそれぞれ島ぞーりに好きなイラストを描きました。そして、イラストに沿って彫刻刀で彫りこみをしました。
しかし、思った以上に島ぞーりの表面が固く、スカウトたちは四苦八苦しました。
After that, the scouts first drew their favorite illustration on the Beach Sandals.
Then they carved the illustrations with the carving knives.
However, the surface of the Beach Sandals were harder than they had expected, and the scouts had a hard time.
そのため彫り込みはせず、イラスト描画だけでも良しとしました。
Therefore, no engraving was done and the instructors decided that only drawing illustrations would be sufficient.
お父さんたちは、スカウトたちの感謝の気持ちのこもったプレゼントをもらって、喜んだことでしょう。
Their fathers must have been delighted to receive gifts from the Scouts as a token of their appreciation.
